Individual growth and spiritual development leads to a fullness of life
Our Bethesda residence offers 49 modern single rooms in a caring community environment. Each has its own shared open spaces for dining and social gatherings, and more private areas where residents can retreat to.
Each room has been designed to help you feel comfortable and at home within your own personal space. The furniture, fittings and service connections give residents the flexibility to make the room their own and add homely touches throughout.
Full length windows allow abundant light in and are tinted for privacy and temperature control. The spacious ensuite includes quality fittings and accessible layout. Each room can support high or low care resident needs, with 24 hour care at hand.
The Bethesda residence supports ‘ageing in place’, meaning it can support a range of high and low care needs, without people needing to move. The facility also provides specialised care for people ageing with intellectual and other disabilities.
Our philosophy of care supports integration of residents with dementia within mainstream aged care and the service welcomes residents with dementia and people ageing with intellectual disability.
We believe that resident life and personal outcomes are significantly improved through:
Specific dementia programs, staff training and building design support and promote resident growth, independence and choice.
The grounds have been designed with our residents needs in mind. They include several large outdoor areas that can be enjoyed with family and friends.
Covered outdoor barbecue area for activities and events, can also be used by families.
The Mercy community provides a welcoming environment where you can be as social and active, or independent and private as you want. Light filled communal areas bring people together throughout the day, during meals, social activities and entertainment. Plentiful shared spaces indoors and in the gardens allow for smaller gatherings or just a place to relax in peace.
Residents can make full use of all facilities and staff, including getting a tea, coffee and snacks from the kitchenette, church services in the chapel, booking an appointment with on-site allied health therapists, or a bbq with friends in the outdoor pergola.
The facility has closed circuit TV and audio systems, which allow broadcast of activities to each resident's room and to common room television sets.
Meals at Bethesda are lovingly prepared by our own chefs and cook staff in house. They prepare nutritious dining options with local, seasonal fare, catering to a variety of dietary needs and food preferences.
Each meal time is a chance not just to enjoy the delicious food, but to enjoy the company of friends and neighbours. Residents can also get together at weekly happy hours before dinner. Or meet at one of our local on-site cafes for fresh barista coffee or tea and something sweet to enjoy.
Relatives and friends are always welcome. There are no set visiting hours. Outside of normal business hours (9am to 4pm) you may be required to call a staff member for access. These numbers are provided at the entrances to the facilities.
